What's That Siren I Hear?

SirensWhen Platte County received their first grant moneys from the Department of Homeland Security, a countywide grant committee listed the first priority new siren warning systems for each community in Platte County. The present or old systems were out dated and replacement parts were becoming very hard to get.

All of the controls are centrally located in the Platte County Communications Center. In the past Chugwater, Glendo, Guernsey and Hartville would have to have a volunteer firefighter go to the fire hall and set off the sirens manually. Computerized warnings will now go out quicker.

Please review the information below regarding the siren signals and take the time to discuss with the entire family. We hope that this system will allow for a much more improved safety system.
